For someone who things superstitions are crap, I tend to come up with a lot of crazy and irrational ideas.
On New Year's Day, coming out of my friends appartment, I vowed that if my car- illegally parked on New Year's Ever, this now being early afternoon- had received no ticket, that this would be the best year of my life.
In the first two weeks: I've been offered a new job, reconnected with some old friends, fell into some extra money, and started to get excited about my academic direction.
And despite my rationalizations, the first thing that pops into my head every time something good happens is, "thank goodness I didn't get that ticket".
