This Sat. was my dear love and I's first ballroom dancing class. It was two hours long, and included one hour of learning the foxtrot, and one hour of learning the rumba. It was loads of fun and actually great exercise, especially for my hips, knees, and shoulders. I am proud to report that we've mastered the box step and the slow-slow-quick-quick step and even have a good start on the box-step-while-turning-360, which by far was the hardest to master. it's cool that we're the youngest, and probably most enthusiastic, of the group. We have 3 more classes to go, and possibly four more dances--I don't remember which, exactly.
Just got home from another of Chabot College's offerings--Wedding Event Planner class, one evening, three hours. Other than the teacher very clearly presenting her wares for our purchase, and the planner-wannabe next to me trying to get me to be one of her first clients, it went pretty well. Lots of good info and forms, helpful tips, and a good understanding of wedding client and wedding planner mentality. I also have her CD (or DVD?), which hopefully will have more info, specifically on food.
Things at work are working; unlike some teachers, I don't have any aggressive, angry parents; but that may just be luck of the draw. Of course, it may be due to teaching style and parent-wrangling style (or lack thereof). But I've got a lot of work to do between now and Spring Break, and then the two weeks after Spring Break and before state testing. After testing, I can probably coast for a while.
Oh! And I have a therapist. As I told my anxiety class doc, she doesn't even have to do anything--just knowing she's there helps. Hopefully, she'll turn out to be useful in sessions as well.
