“Mark, this is Mimi. She’ll be dining with us tonight.” Roger told me, walking over with a skinny, Latina girl.

“Hi.” We both said.

“I think we’ve met.” I told her.

“That’s what he said.” She said in return, laughing a little.

It seems that she has forgotten. I’ll never forget though. I mean, just looking into those beautiful brown eyes of hers brings back the memories.

It was the October of 1994 when we first met. I was coming in from just walking around the city for a while; I think Roger was out with April. He had to be. I had somehow forgotten my keys, and when I called up to the loft to ask Roger to throw them down, no one answered.

Being October it wasn’t really cold, but it wasn’t all that warm either. Sighing, I decided I might as well wait for someone else to come home, hopefully Maureen or Collins, or even another tenant in the building.

I sat down on the steps, my back resting against the brick wall.

It actually felt nice just to sit out here, alone, staring at the moonlight.

Taking a quick glance down at my watch, wondering what time Roger and April would even think about coming home.

“10:49. Fuck, no one’s going to be home for a while.” I muttered. “Whatever”

Deciding I was going to be here a while, I slid back against the door, closing my eyes.

The next thing I remembered was a slim hand touching my shoulder. Maybe Roger and April were finally home.

I blinked a few times before opening my eyes and saw a skinny, Latina girl wearing electric blue pants standing in front of me,

“Are you okay?” She asked me.

I couldn’t answer her. The only thing I could look at her was her eyes. Her eyes were so beautiful, large and brown. They were perfect.

“Huh? What? Sorry.” I said, I knew I was blushing.

“Are you okay? You look cold.” She was kneeling down beside me, her eyes full of worry.

“Oh, I’m fine. I was just waiting for my roommates to get home. Though, I don’t think they’re home yet.” I explained, taking a glance down at my watch. ’1:48’.

“You live here?” The girl asked.

I nodded. “Yeah, I’m on the top floor.”

“Really? I live right below you!” She said, smiling.

God. This woman has a beautiful smile too.

“Really? I didn’t know we had anyone living below. I’m Mark.” I stood up and reached out a hand to help her up.

“I’m Mimi.” She said, taking my hand and shaking it. “Do you want to come upstairs until your roommates come home?”

I smiled. “Yeah, I would like that.”

She unlocked the door and we made our way up to her apartment. Walking in I took in her apartment. It definitely wasn’t as big as the loft, but it was homey. Perfect for only one person living there.

“This is a nice place.” I said.

“Thanks. Would like anything?”

“Nah. I’m good. Thanks though.”

“No problem. Go ahead and sit down. You’re probably going to be here a while.” She said laughing. I followed her and sat down on her bed.

“Thank you for putting up with me.” I smiled at her.

“It’s no problem at all.” She said, her heading turning to face mine.

That’s when our eyes met.

I reached my hand out to grab her face, slowly pulling her lips closer to mine.

She returned the kiss, her tongue making her way into my mouth.

I didn’t pull back. I didn’t want to. I deepened the kiss, Mimi allowing me too.

After was seemed life forever, Mimi finally pulled away, touching her lips.

“I’m going to go.” I quickly got up from and her bed and left. I sat outside the loft until Collins finally came home.

That was the last time I saw her.

Until now.
