Maureen, Mark, Roger, and April sat in the loft, bored. It was raining, preventing Mark from filming. Roger had broken a guitar string, so he couldn’t play. Maureen and April had nothing to do.
“Hey Mark,” Maureen said, “what’s your middle name?”
“Jacob,” he replied. “Why?”
“Just wondering.”
“Well, what’s yours?” he asked.
“Frances,” they both wrinkled their nose and giggled.
“Frances?” Roger laughed. “What kind of stupid ass name is Frances?”
“Heeey,” Maureen mocked offense.
Roger laughed. “What a stupid name.”
“Shut up, Roger,” April smacked his arm. “My middle name is Frances too.”
Maureen laughed. Roger stopped, and said, “I was just kidding, you know that.”
“Sure,” Maureen and April replied, rolling their eyes.
“Why don’t you tell us yours?” Mark said, raising his eyebrows.
“I-I don’t have one,” he said, smirking.
“Yes, you do,” Maureen said. “I remember you would sign stuff with three initials when you were like ten because you thought it made you look cool. Like RFD or something.”
“Well, I don’t want to tell you.”
“Why not?” April poked him in the side. “It can’t be that bad.”
Sighing, he looked downward. “Do I have to?”
“Yes,” the three echoed.
“Francis.”
