Yesterday Dad came to drop of some of my tax information and buy me lunch (mmm, Cousin's Subs). After lunch, he decided to follow me to Schmeecklee to help me map out my transects for Biogeography. Let me tell you, it is way easier to do with two people. He also loaned me 300 dollars so I can pay for to take the class/internship Professor Haywood offered me (Haywood wants it on our official transcripts, so he has it set as a one credit summer class. Financial aid won't cover me unless I'm at least a part time student for summer, which is three credits, and there really aren't any other summer classes I need offered. On average, classes at UWSP cost about 300 bucks a credit, so I wouldn't have been able to go otherwise). My parents rock.

Then, today I spent another two and a half hours walking around my assigned transects in Schmeecklee trying to find nap weed. I totally didn't find any and I ended up getting twigs in odd places (there are lots of trails. Too bad they're only a meter or two across while my transects are 100x20 meters each) by the end of the afternoon. There was lots of cracking my way through dead falls and branches and wading through ankle-deep water, but it was honestly second only to the whole "collecting tree cores" thing on the Most Fun I've Ever Had In A Class Scale. I only was able to finish one of my transects, but it was the most challenging of the two considering it was, literally, right smack dab in the middle of the woods. My other one is right on Lake Joanis, which means it's about two thirds the size cause nap weed doesn't grow in water, and there's also one of the main walking trails right through the middle of it. I'll hopefully be able to tackle that one either tomorrow during lab, or Saturday when I have time after work.

Then I went to Arby's and got a Chicken Cordon Bleu, fries, and a drink, which I totally can't really afford, but I kinda didn't pack a lunch this morning and I was hella hungry after walking around in the woods for two plus hours. Got back to the house around 2:15. Totally didn't do any homework and read instead (rereading Rachel Caine's Ill Wind, which still keeps me turning pages even though I've read it three times already) for the hour I had before I needed to be at work. Then I taught swim lessons and came home and read some more. Oh yeah, procrastination has bitten me but goo-oood.

procrastination, parents, my parents rock, schmeeckle, classes, biogeography, field work, awesome, internship
