MORTAL KOMBAT! was on the CW, and I just watched it. 1) kick ass music, 2) cool martial arts, 3) Snarky Bastard Rayden (oh how I love you!), 4) plot so shallow that even pond scum will head for deeper waters - It's official, I totally love this movie. I mean, I knew I *liked* the movie - the first one is always the best, after all. But, watching it again for the first time after, like, at least ten years? Oh yeah, it's totally love. ::jams to the music::

Though I do have one two nit pick(s) - why do all those Mystical Types have to be so obscure? So SubZero can only be killed by water... Don't go all mumbo-jumbo-corny and say "use the element that gives life!" Save some time and just tell Liu to stab the sucker with an ice sickle. Saves you a few bruises, saves *us* a few "Duh, moron!" moments, and the world is a better place.
Also, when you got a thousand some mortal souls well learned in the martial arts at your disposal, couldn't you make the Big Climatic Fight a little more impressive? I mean, seriously... You're this big bad sorcerer, you've won the tournament at least 9 times (19 if you managed to take over Kitana's realm, too), you've sucked up who knows how many of the realms' Best of the Best, and yet you're defeated after a few punches from a piddly little human? A very *pretty* human, granted, with a very nice chest and arms, but still a human... Shang, I'm disappointed in you.
Alright, done nit picking. I understand how insanely challenging it is to make something so microscopically shallow try and seem deep - I forgive you, writers.
Also, just so it's clear, MORTAL KOMBAT IS LOVE! Corny, shallow, but oh-so-pretty love.
Now, if only someone wrote their own fic version of a sequel to wash the bad memories of Annihilation from my brain. ::sighs::
