In which half my soul is looking for adoption

So, with Dead Zone being canceled, I still have half a soul to give to someone. You know, a show (or something) I'll end up planning my life around.

I'm thinking about giving it to The Calling, but 1) I'm not sure they're worth it since I only have two songs by them, even if they're two songs I absolutely adore and will likely never, ever get sick of hearing, and b) I'm not quite willing to give my soul - or even half of one - to a band. First off, it would be *way* too expensive to go see them every week (unlike a television show which, barring the mid-season or end-of-season hiatuses, I could see every week for free), and with the whole "soul owning" thing, I'd probably have to buy at least one or two of their CDs for them to qualify for joint custody with Ghost Hunters.

I really *wanted* Ghost Hunters International to qualify for partial-soul ownership because then it wouldn't be split up so much, but alas, I just haven't been too impressed with those guys as of yet. Therefor, they won't even be in the running for the other half of my soul until Jason and/or Grant go over there to kick some asses and straighten them out a bit, and even then it's up in the air.

I suppose Chuck has some pretty good odds going for 'em. I mean, yeah, with the writers strike (even if it is over), there won't be any new episodes for awhile, but the 8 month hiatus between Dead Zone seasons didn't stop it from partial soul-ownership. I'm just not sure I'm as obsessive about Chuck to get 'em to qualify for the joint custody.

Then there's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. While they're not as good as Chuck (yet), that show also has some pretty good odds when it comes to my soul, especially now that it looks like Kyle Reese's brother will be joining the cast. I mean, love the first and second Terminator movies, and considering I'm now slightly addicted to a show I wasn't even planning on watching when I first heard about it - well, that says something. And the spoiler mentioned above made me insanely happy, enough so that I may throw things if they kill him off or make him a bad guy or something equally evil, so that will have a lot of pull.

::sigh:: Choices, choices. Maybe we'll get some good new summer series I can obsess over enough for soul-qualification.
