Am home. Trip was a success, and Coyote is home safe and sound after three months, YAY!
Also, here's a huge run on sentence on what all we did because I highly doubt I'll be unlazy enough to type a nice Trip Overview later on.
Left home yesterday around 11 in the morning, drove for three hours, got hotel in Barron, met Brad in North Branch (about a half hour past St. Croix Falls) to trade his truck for our Tracker (and he had even *washed* it for us!), went back to Barron and ate a really good meal at the Happy Wok (and were the only ones there, which is surprising because the food is really good. I think a lot of people do the take out thing), actually slept last night for three hours or more (which never happens when I sleep in a hotel. Either I was really tired, or it was quiet enough and my parents weren't snoring loud enough for me to actually fall asleep), left Barron and headed to Osceola this morning around 9ish, got there around 10ish, played in the waterfall and drank expensive but yummy chai tea latte, wandered around Osceola for an additional hour/hour and a half looking at the historical markers, left Osceola around 12:15ish and drove some more, crossed the river again in Stillwater, found a really cool rest stop a little outside of Stillwater where there was a beach and sand stone cliffs with etchings (modern and old) in them as well as a cave and a really cool spring coming out the side of the cliff, drove some more, met Sandy and Mike in Menominee and ate at Applebees for a late lunch/early dinner around 4ish (I had an extremely good turkey sandwich topped with cranberries and red onions and bacon), followed them back to their new house and hung around gossiping for an additional hour, and then we got home by about 7:15.
That said, I am now reading Deathly Hallows spoilers. So far, my reaction is "Wow, this kinda sucks." (and before you start screaming at me, I'm not saying it sucks for everyone. It would just kinda suck for me. It looks like it reads a lot like book 5, and I *hated* book 5. To the point where I didn't read book 6 for a year, despite having it on my shelf, because I knew in order to remember all that was going on, I would've had to have reread book 5) and have decided that I will not be reading book 7 if I can possibly avoid it.
They seriously kill Hedwig? That is Not On! What did the poor owl ever do to anyone? ::sniffs::
And there we have the last two days in a nutshell. It was a very fun trip, and OH MY GOD I HAVE MY CAR BACK THERE IS NOT ENOUGH GLEE IN THE WORLD!
Okay, done now. Whee, new Dead Zone tonight!
