First day of classes went well, in my opinion. I had Trigonometry at 9, Intro to Meteorology at 11, and Geography at 1.
* I hate Trigonometry, but what else is new. The teacher has a really heavy Indian accent, too, so I can only understand maybe 70 percent of what he's saying. Hopefully I'll survive it, but I am most definitely not looking forward to it. At least I only have it twice a week.
* I've already taken Intro to Meteorology as an online course (where I got an A-, I think), but my advisor suggested I take it again to fill in the blanks that were probably left behind when he realized that the book we used had been written by Geologists. I'm honestly not complaining; I love the subject, the teacher seems quite good, and doing the labs as a group will probably be a *lot* more beneficial than what we did for the online course - which was, we read the chapter, then we did a bunch of busy work with comparing weather maps and answering multiple choice questions. It was time consuming and dull, and I'm not honestly sure I learned much with the online course despite the grade. I'm looking forward to the in-class discussions and labs, with actual breathing *people* to compare results with rather than faceless names and numbers on a discussion board. And, you know, YAY Meteorology!
* Geography was pretty interesting. Granted, it was more stuff I already know, but it was the first day, and predictably, a lot of review. I really like the teacher - I think he should make the class informative as well as fun, and I can honestly say I'm looking forward to the lab we have on Monday.
So, yes, very productive first day. Not only did I find all my classes with*out* getting lost, I also discovered that by riding my bike, I can get across campus in half the time, even with heavy foot traffic (which is good, cause most of my classes take place in buildings at least a quarter mile away). Not entirely sure what I'll do when winter starts (if I get into choir as I hope, I'll have three classes back to back, all in different buildings), but until the snow and ice shows up, I think I'm in good shape.
