Mary Kay muffins and a makeover

Though I highly doubt any of you were really fooled (at least any of you who have known me forever), the previous post was a complete and total fabrication. I had a really good one thought of last night that I thought might have gotten a few of you, but alas the story kinda disappeared into that void that we all fall into whenever we go to sleep. The one I posted was totally off the top of my head and written in about 5 minutes before i left this morning, so I didn't have any time to make it as believable as it could be. Happy April Fools, all. ;)

On an entirely different note, today I had way more fun that I originally thought I would. Dana invited me to do one of those Mary Kay, Muffins and a Makeover parties a week or two ago, and today was when we actually had the party. I was kinda "Dude, I don't know a thing about make up and I'll probably never use anything I learn, but its for Dana and it's a chance to get together with the "girls", so why not." So I went. And I actually bought a compact with the eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick that I used today in my sample thingy. I figured that while I normally don't wear make up, I can use it for the rare occasions when I have to dress up or do something in front of an audience (I always wanted to know a little more about makeup for concerts and such since my face always breaks out before I have to do something or go anywhere). I also figure that the thing will last me the rest of my life and beyond, so I'll never have to buy make up again, which is always a plus.

After the "party", me, Dana and Bobby - who's house we were using for the makeup thing - hung around for a bit playing with Bobby's adorable miniature greyhound, Dash, her really pretty parrot Radar, and her adorable new baby. They also made me watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire since I hadn't seen it yet. Dana and I spent most of the movie jabbering back and forth about how we did/didn't picture the characters when comparing the movie to the book, as well as explaining to Bobby the different plot twists (she has read all the books, but not in a long time, so she had forgotten a lot about what happened). Ended up spending most of the afternoon at Bobby's, come think of it, just jabbering and watching the movie and all that stuff. It was a lot of fun.

Left Bobby's at close to 6, at which point I dragged Dana - who is still trying to exercise more and lose weight - out to take Aragon (her dog) for a walk around the park with me. We walked about a mile as it was a really pretty day for a walk, even if it is a bit cooler then it has been. Talked a bunch more on the walk, though don't ask me to remember what about (it was still much fun, though) and then I finally left at around 6:45 pm to head back home. Stopped at the grocery store to get some wine for my parents, then over to KFC to get some food, and finally got back home around 7:30. It was a very nice way to spend the second to last day of my Spring Break, and I'm glad I let Dana talk me into it.

friends, dana, april fools, spring break, day summary, makeup
