Chai Tea is, like, the new Black! And I am quickly becoming addicted to it. YAY coffee-like effects without the actual coffee!
Only problem is, I really can't afford to spend 3 bucks a pop for my fix from the local Coffee Cabin or Starbucks (yes, it tis a very sad month for Marshfield, for earlier this October our very own Starbucks drive-through opened. First Walmart, and now Starbucks. So much for our city... ::sighs::). So, I'm trying to figure out how to make it myself. I know that it starts as black tea, and I know that cream, honey, cinnamon, and ginger are added, but so far that's all I know about it. No idea in what quantity they're used in or if there's more spices I'm missing. I'm drinking my first attempt right now, and while it's okay, it's not quite right... I think I added too much honey, and it tastes like something is missing. Anyone who ever worked at a restaurant or coffee place think they can help me out? I really really like this stuff, and I would *love* to be able to make it myself, but unfortunately Google doesn't seem to be finding many results except those of the pre-powdered, just-add-water variety, which, frankly, are nasty in my opinion (or at least the ones I've tasted. By all means, if there's a good powdered brand that isn't too sticky sweet, let me know and I'll be all over it). So, yeah... help would be appreciated. Pretty please?
