Wheee! I have the Chronicles of Narnia box set!

And the very first thing I did was switch Them Magicians Nephew and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe around. Because that's the way it was meant to be. ::nods::

Darn right! Put the books in the proper order! Even though "The Magician's Nephew" is 'first' chronilogicly, it is sooooooo not the first in the series!

So totally not the first in the series. "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" is the first one I read when I was little, and goll-darnit, it will *always* be the first in my heart, no matter what numbers they attach to it!

I kinda miss the classic covers, though. The new ones that have shown up since we found out they were remaking the movies (opening in December, I think) are pretty and stuff, and shockingly enough they do kinda give us a grasp of the story within the pages, but what can I say... I'm a classic girl. :)

What's up with makeing every book into a movie??
Joe can't wait to go see Goblet of Fire once it gets here, but I'm expecting to be disapointed by it. I saw the film trailer and just in watching that saw two major differences from the film than there was in the book (Moody's eye and Sirius in the fire) and I haven't read the book for almost 3 years and hardly remember any of the details!

Actually, Chronicles of Narnia have had a few of their books made into movies already back in the 80s, I think (The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and Prince Caspian for sure, and I think there were one or two others, too). No idea why the old ones weren't good enough, though. I remember watching them when I was little and thinking they were pretty good. But, hey, I'm game for pretty new special effects ( ... )
