Mom is home from the hospital and up and walking around a little. She actually came home last night, so she was only in the hospital for one night. I'm taking that as a good sign. She says she's still stiff and sore, but other than the whole pain thing, her stomach is feeling much better. She was even able to eat a cup of yogurt this morning, so that's a definite plus since while she was at the hospital, some of the meds they were giving her made her *really* sick to her stomach and she was only able to keep a little chicken broth down, and even that with a bit of effort. Hopefully she's finally gotten those meds out of her system.
And, I am shamelessly taking advantage of her weakened state (I'm such a horrible daughter) to foist the Harry Potter books on her (which she's never read), giving the excuse that the first three, at least, would probably make some good comfort/feel better books. So far she hasn't taken the bait *quite* yet, but I could almost see her ears perk up when I mentioned that they had pretty large print, so she wouldn't have to use her reading glasses which might make the headache that has replaced the nausea worse. She's also asked about them once or twice before, she just never read them because at the time she asked she was reading something else. I think she's still reading something else at the moment, but I think I might be able to convince her to put it off for a few days (cause, seriously... those books are quick reads, especially if it's your first time reading them.) It's always fun to addict new people to Harry Potter since most of the world has already read the books. ;)
