Maren sleepy. She actually went out and had a kinda sorta social life today!
Went into town this morning/afternoon thinking I would pick up a few things - mostly for the Germany trip - if I could find them. On that list was a German/English dictionary and or CD, a portable CD player, and a portable CD player carrier. I also needed more hair ties cause all ours are wearing out and such things are kinda a must have when you work in a swimming pool. I was also craving Chinese thanks to last nights chat, so I decided to call Dana and her boy toy Uriah on a whim to see if they were available to grab some lunch together. They actually were, which kinda surprised me cause I thought they both had to work Sundays. So, the three of us went out for Chinese, where we all ate too much and tried to catch up a bit since it's been awhile since we've been able to get together. Twas a very nice time full of sexual innuendos for Uriah has a mind dirty enough to give me come competition and Dana isn't too far behind. ;)
I had planned on doing the whole shopping thing afterwards and then heading back home, but Dana decided to nab me and take me along to meet some friends of hers who are trying to put together a comic. Apparently she remembered my doodles from high school and thought I might be of use. The drawings ended up being *way* too good for me to ever hope to be able to copy them, but they snatched up my offer to work on a color scheme like piranhas on fresh meat. So, I might actually be a part of something in the kinda sorta near future! I feel so special!
After the comic meeting, Dana and I both went to Walmart to do the shopping thing. Both of us had stuff to pick up - her kitty litter and milk, me CD player and English/German dictionary CD thingies. Found the former, didn't find the latter, but such is life. I now have a portable CD player, so I'm happy! I figure I can look for the language books/CDs at the library or see of Kim has any in her used book store.
After Walmart, the two of us went back to Dana and Uriah's apartment where Dana attempted to explain Final Fantasy X-2 to me and showed me some of the spiffy 'movie' clips that are hidden on the game. I still totally confused about the whole plot of the game thing, but the clips were very cool to watch. After Final Fantasy 101, we watched Shark Tale, which I had never seen. Very cute and amusing movie. Then we took her dog, Argon, for a walk in the park across the street from her apartment complex, and I finally headed back home around 7:30 in the evening.
YAY ME! I actual went out and had a kinda sorta social life for a day! Now, however, I am uber tired because on top of all that stuff me and Dana did was about 92 degrees of heat with 85 percent humidity. *Not* fun, and as heat always drains the hell out of me, and god knows we were in it enough, I think I have every right to be tired. I only hope I'll be able to sleep tonight in aforementioned heat.
