Maren sleepy. Went to bed at 1, woke up at 6, couldn't get back to sleep, had to work by 9, didn't get done until 3:30, went to Gramma's to give her hotel names for Cedar River, got gas cause car was running on fumes, looked for new swimming suit at Durhams and didn't find anything, got Chinese instead, came home, put on TV, took a nap, was woke up by mice, set trap, got glass of water, and am now typing on computer - still tired.
My day in a nutshell... and one big run on sentence. Don't really care so much at the moment, though.
Looks like we got hit with another severe storm while I was in town. I got home and several of the blankets that had been airing out on the line were on the ground in a sodden heap with the clothes pins that had been holding them snapped in "half" to the point where I couldn't get them off the line because the wire spring thingies that they open and close with were twisted up and hooked on the line some how. That takes a bit of effort when you have fingers; when its the wind, well, you know it had to be pretty strong since usually it just blows the stuff off the line, clothes pins and all - doesn't wrap the wire thingy around the line so the only way to get them off is to dismantle the pins entirely. There were also lots of new puddles and an inch and a half of water in one of the empty pots we have outside. Yesterday was the first day in two weeks that we hadn't had some kind of severe storm blow through the central Wisconsin area... guess the reprieve didn't last long. :)
For that matter, we had the storm in town, too. Had to close the pool for an hour and 15 minutes or there abouts while lightning happily lit up the sky outside, so we lifeguards got paid to eat lunch and play cards (we played Bull Shit, though for the sake of the tender ears listening, it was turned into BS). Not too bad a deal if you ask me. :D
However, once the pool opened, it was pretty wild. Kids Corner came down, as well as a few members of swim team and a handful of families with kids, and since the water slides were open, yeah... it was pretty busy for a while there. Had to leave the water slides open an extra 15 minutes so everyone who wanted to go on could. But, at least it wasn't dull, and there were enough lifeguards there to cover everything for once.
Got the new Anita Blake books I ordered in the mail today. Unfortunately, only one of them was the old Ace cover, so that was two hours of my life searching online through used book websites wasted. Ah, well, I still got them all for 20 bucks cheaper then they would have cost through Amazon.com brand new - including all the extra buck and a half shipping and handling for each additional book in the package. So, while the covers are still ugly, at least I didn't pay full price for them. :)
