Non-spoilery Joan of Arcadia comments

This show is getting weird. I mean, it was kinda already weird before, but now it's getting weirder. Not sure how I feel about that yet, but so far I'm kinda liking where it's going. Little more melo-dramatic, quite a bit more brain activity required to figure out what the hell is going on - and you're *still* left wondering. It's probably a play for more viewers, but this time around I'm hoping that it works, cause Joan of Arcadia needs to be signed on for a third season. Just cause. (do we have any more knowledge on the future of the series? Last I heard, a third season was still up in the air, but that was a month or two ago now)

Also? In a weird, twisted, kinda pedia-file type of way, I found myself shipping just a *little* for Joan/Ryan. I mean, I'm still hard core Joan/Adam - even with the troubles they've been going through (and I still keep Adam in my closet. You know, just to take care of him... ;), but I still sensed quite a bit of underlying... tension... in all those looks passed between Joan and Ryan - tension that was more than what you tend find between a protagonist and their favored antagonist. I especially noticed it in the tag scene, which was done very very well. Way cool shot of Joan there with the wind and the hair and the *look*... My dad (who is/was a professional photographer) and I both complimented how well the camera people captured the moment (though him being a bit of a nit pick in that area also mentioned how it was a bit too centered).

I also find it amusing how my mother is seriously considering picking up the Joan of Arcadia season 1 box set even though we have no DVD player in which to watch them on. I, of course, backed her up on this idea... ;)
