So. Dad has spent the last week trying to figure out what is wrong with our washer, which for some reason stopped working entirely half-way through a wash cycle. Meaning he's been tinkering with it and unplugging and replugging hoses to it and moving it and taking off the switch panel and pretty much anything else he could think of disassembling in hopes of finding the problem while the dirty laundry pile got higher and higher (I've had to borrow socks from mom for the past two days). Today he figured out the over-balanced switch causing the problem, which had been slightly melted by something or another. We'll need to get a new one, but for now Dad managed to get the washer working again and threw in the load that hadn't gotten finished when the thing shut down. YAY, right? Only problem is, in the exaltation of figuring out what was wrong and solving the problem, he forgot to rehook up one of the hoses. So now our bathroom is a bit flooded. Good thing we still have that old WetVac.
Thankfully, only a towel and the rugs were soaked. All the dirty clothes were stuffed into a plastic storage container in the corner which we've been using as a hamper. YAY for thinking ahead!
