Nine is still hurting, that much is obvious. She has trouble laying down, and laying on her side also hurts her. I haven't seen her tail wag at all this morning, which makes me worry all the more because that was the one thing that that has almost never been motionless since she was a puppy.
Hopefully she'll last long enough to take her to the vet tomorrow... I mean, this thing is just so sudden... We have no idea what is wrong and the vet isn't open today. Dad has been keeping her doped up on asprin to minimize the pain, but we really can't do anything more until we know what is wrong. At least she is walking now, even if it is very very stiffly and only when she has to.
In other slightly brighter news, dad has his friend Danny over and we've all had fun showing her family pictures and telling stories. She majored in Botany, so Gus is having a hay day talking to her, and she's also interested in Native American studies, so mom and dad have been jabbering about stuff like that since she got here yesterday afternoon. They even got out the drums my parents made and the flute Dad traded for one of his arrowheads at some sort of gathering a year or two ago and were happily drumming and fluting last night right here in the living room. Was very loud, to the point where you could feel the house vibrating. Was pretty cool, even if my ears felt rather assaulted once they stopped.
This morning mom made some really good quiche (only spelled right) for everyone, and now she's once again dragged out the family photo albums. Danny seems to be enjoying herself, so that's good.
