Random comment - Tootsie Rolls are the Food of the Gods
That said, another day done, and happily not as busy of one. Had to work at the Y at noon, and Andrew was again doing really well today except for the fact that he was a little more restless and didn't wanna listen as well. But, he swam almost half way across the pool without any help, not even flippers this time, and he swam across it and back twice with the flippers. He even did a bob, but since I forgot goggles, he didn't go all the way under. So, I wrote down all he has accomplished on the back of a little Adaptive Swim Award thingy my mum made for our adaptive classes (cause all the other kids get cards that mark off what they need to work on yet and what they can do) and I saw that he only has like three or four more things to work on outta something like 10, so YAY Andrew!
And, I gots me another surprise when I went up to sign in my hour for the day behind the desk. In the staff sign in/out room, there was a *whole* platter of little 3-4 in Subway Subs that were for all the staff, and I happily proceeded to stuff my face with one of them cause I was huuuuuuungry. Twas good, even if I woulda left off the tomato. But, I only had one hand in which to stuff-face with cause I was carrying my towel and such with the other, so I lived with the tomatoes. It was oooh so good... :)
After work, dad picked me up and we went grocery shopping, cause he and mum are outta town this weekend, and I'm home alone, and I kinda appreciate having food to eat around on such occasions. So, we got like 80 bucks worth of food. And it woulda been just fine except for the fact that I went to look for bagels and when I came back I couldn't find him (cause he had the money) anywhere in the store, so I figured he had gone out to the car to wait, thinking I would pay for it meself. And I did, but I had to write a check for the whole $3.08, cause I seriously had *no* money. And I knew I had close to 800 in my account (not as much as I want, but I've been having to pay for my own dr. appointments and allergy meds, and that so far has cost me 123 bucks, and then I took another 20 out for when Emma was over so we could go bowling and then another 20 for the shirt I brought Tuesday, cause it was so frelling hot and I was dying in my t-shirt), so I figured I could cover three dollars.
And, I was right about being able to cover it... it just took the store's computer 15 minutes to FIGURE THAT OUT! It didn't like my ID number. They had to have like three people type it in, and it didn't work for any of them... Kept saying that I had written too many checks in one day, even though I hadn't written *any* checks since some time in early May... So, I had to give them my ID number like three times and then they had to type it in on like three different computers and then one of the managers had to come and type it in again cause it *still* wasn't working... and Maren was standing there balancing her check book for about 15 minutes before they figured it out. All this trouble over a matter of $3.08... More proof to the fact that computers hate me... They see me coming and decide to turn on me... the little buggers... ::sighs::
So, after I *finally* got my bagels and Pasta Anytime, we headed home. It's cooooold out today, dude! Compared to the frelling 90-degree-heat -and-80-percent-humidly wave we've had the past three days and then it's suddenly 60-degrees-normal-humidity-and windy cold front... *kinda* a hefty change there.
And again I say "Wisconsin! The land of Mother Nature's mood swings..."
