8 random things about me
This meme has been going around Facebook the last few weeks. I figured I'd post it here, too, simply because I was using my Live Journal Semagic window to back up what I was writing should there be sudden wireless or Facebook failure, so it was already typed up anyway. :)
I was given #8 by the sneaky Natalie due to a failure to read the fine print. ;) So 8 random things about me!
1) I am wearing two pairs of socks today - one, an awesome pair of Batman patterned knee-socks, but because the fabric on them is so thin I topped them with an additional pair of thin ankle socks, resplendent in white with neon yellow toe and heel. Mostly because November in Wisconsin is rather cold and drafty and extra layers are always a plus.
2) Funky socks are awesome. I wear them on a regular basis. My most obnoxious pair has black and white strips on top and around the ankle, but on the bottom it switches to black and bright pink stripes instead.
3) Needless to say, Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year just because there is such a variety of awesome socks to choose from. I have three pair for that holiday alone that I wear year-round.
4) I adore my car perhaps a bit more than is strictly healthy. It is old and rusting away and the paint is faded like woah and I'm kind of afraid to wash it for fear of something falling off (it's happened before; luckily it wasn't anything important; Wisconsin Winters are kind to no vehicle, much less one that has survived 17 of them), but I love it so and I will be absolutely heart broken when I can't afford to fix it anymore. At which point it will be gifted to the children of some of my nearest and dearest under strict orders that they turn it into one of the most awesome forts ever.
5) I hate folding laundry. I currently have a pile of clean clothes about three and a half feet tall waiting to be folded. I usually get around to it once a month or so.
6) I have had the same back pack since I was in 7th grade, and it is still 100% structurally sound in every way. One of the zippers (the one I never used) is a bit stiff, but that's it, the only sign of 18 years of very, very hard use. Great Land, man. They sure don't make them like they used to.
7) I hate running and can't even go a quarter mile before I'm ready to pass out, but I can swim until the cows come home.
8) I had deep fried cheese nuggets and caramel corn for dinner.
