Avengers fic rec dump

I think I read all of these over the course of about four or five days. Hence the Avengers OD I mentioned in one of my last posts. Even so, all of them are good and I know I'll totally want them on hand for a reread some day. Also, there is lots of Darcy being awesome. Because she totally is.

The Avenger's Compass Rose by Cati. Darcy Lewis was just an intern looking for six science credits. It's amazing how fast things change. This is the story of how her life gets completely reorganized. A little (or a lot) sappier at times than I tend to go for, and Darcy doesn't quite live up to her full awesome potential, but otherwise not too bad.

After the End by copperbadge. A spot on and lovely Betty after the Avengers movie.

Film Studies, or, Four Films About Captain America and One By Him by copperbadge. Title pretty much says it all, Steve Rogers is no stranger to the silver screen.

Resurgam by lanyon. Steve’s not done any research into cellists in Portland. Tony says that wasn’t very forward-thinking of him.
Steve clutches the brown paper parcel, that’s thicker than it was when he wrapped it first. He says that it’s about the journey.
He says that he’s never once reached his destination.

Living Someone Else's Life by andacus. Wherein Darcy is just trying to live her life in the midst of all this chaos (And, boy, is there ever chaos.) but the universe... well, the universe is one twisted bitch.
Or the one where Darcy's mother chooses the very worst time to have a heart to heart about her father.

Night Run by LtLJ. An unknown group abducts Bruce Banner, and Tony has to work with Nick Fury to save him. On the one hand, I spent most of this story thinking "This entire thing could've been done without needing Nick Fury right there with them." BUT, who am I to resist the allure of seeing the Director of SHIELD kicking ass and taking names out in the field? And I gotta admit, the visual appeal of the rescue itself toward the end totally won me over.

And I Will Hold On Hope by spirithorse. Steve had been skeptical when Senator Brandt had said that they needed a dragon. He was a captain in the Army, not the Air Force. It was that kind of confidence that would get people to buy war bonds. The fact that they had managed to get a Firecracker meant that the dragon would just blend right in with the USO girls and his own costume. A Temeraire fusion fic.
I admit, I was extremely, EXTREMELY dubious when I saw the summary. Avengers and dragons? My imagination is pretty flexible, but that strained it a bit. BUT, pair up two of my favorite things (Avengers and dragons), and curiosity got the better of me. And man, it was so worth it. I am amazed at how well the author was able to mesh the two universes rather flawlessly. Also, I've never read any of the Temeraire books, but I am definitely adding the to my "To Read" list after this.
