So, yeah, I said I would update... and, since Internet Explorer just decided to freeze on me again, I figured now was as good a time as any to post to LJ since it'll be about 3 minutes or so before it de-freezes.
So, anyhoo, on with my boring life. Spent the morning on the computer and watching TV... MaGyver ended in a bitch of a cliff hanger, dammit... ::pouts:: Buut, I get to see the rest of it in another hour and a half. Woo!
Anyhoo, I head into town around 2:15 or there abouts because I wanna drop the reference questioners I got from Lucerne off at the people I hope to use as references to get the job there. First one is Becky, my youth pastor from high school. I kinda faded out of Youth Group around junior year, but still, I've known Becky forever and since it's a Christian camp, I figured my experiences from youth group would be good boosting material for when it comes to "Look at all this good stuff I did!!! See, you can even ask my Youth Pastor!" Yeah, so I'm babbling. I apologize a head of time if any of this post seems confusing... ;)
So, I drop the reference thingy off with Becky and we talk for a bit. She tells me that the youth group is planning on heading to Lucerne for a little work-camp sorta weekend in May some time, and invites me along. I told her she would have to give me a call closer to the head-out date because I wasn't sure if something would come up to keep me from accepting her invite. I would love to go to Lucerne again, even if I'm planning on working there this summer (or at least hoping). I haven't been there in ages.
Aaand I'm rambling again. Onwards!!!
So, after a hug and well wishes from Becky, I head to the YMCA to drop the other reference sheet off with Sara, my supervisor from work teaching swim lessons these past 3 summers. She says yeah, she wouldn't mind filling it out and told me she would try to have it done and sent in by tomorrow (today) and after my mom and her talk for a bit, my mom and I head to ShopCo cause I need jeans. Really. I've hat 3 pairs turn on me over the past month or two (two pair got huge holes in them, one of which was right over my left bum cheek, and the other pair is still in my overnight bag which is still in Dana's trunk), and when I only have maybe 4 pair to begin with? Yes yes, Maren needs pants.
Only prob is, when Maren and her mother go shopping, we usually end up buying more then what we came for. I got two pairs of pants, yes, a pair of blue jean flair legs and a pair of carpenter pants, but I also got a few patches in hopes of being able to *fix* one of my holy pairs of jeans, and mother got a peasant shirt, two pairs of sandals (really nice sandals that I think I might end up stealing eventually... :) ) and a plastic Rubbermate kinda thing to use as a hamper in the bathroom/laundry room. I didn't go too far over budget, just getting the patch and an bag of Cheetos and ending with a sum of $39.14, $32 of which were to pay for my pants. Mom ended up with $47.70 or something like that, but still, not too bad. Only prob is neither of us have any cash, and had to pay for it outta our checking accounts. Ah, well, such is life.
Anyways, we get home around 4:45 or there abouts and I watch Charmed and the Stargate marathon on Sci Fi... And ended up cursing because they jipped us on the fifth season of Stargate... ::pouts:: Now, see, we shoulda gotten the 5th season because 6th season just ended, and usually when it comes to reruns, they show every season but the most recent. So, Maren is left hanging with SG-1 400,000 light years away from home in a Gu'auld (sp?) mother ship, which thankfully was one then snarched instead of one they were prisoner on, with the bad guy in another mother ship as their only company. Figures Sci Fi would do such a thing... They have this thing with 5th seasons. ::makes face at Sci Fi::
But, it was ok cause I got to see the premier, both eps, again, which is good since when they originally aired sometime in august or July, I think, I sever thunderstorm (and funnel cloud) knocked out our satellite system. (It couldn't get a signal through the clouds, nothing more serious then that, so no worries). All I can say? ::sniffs:: Poor Daniel... :.(
Aaand that's it. Watched Stargate and then got online and talked with friends for 3 hours. Exciting life, no? :)
