Do not much care for my current
Swiss Gear Zurich sleeping bag - way too many zippers, and though it says the temp range is 25-60 degrees, I can personally say it does not hold up in the 25-35 degree range - all those damn zippers pretty much just let in all the cold air. Also, aside from the flannel sheet (the one positive thing I have to say about the bag), the whole thing is covered in that shiny, high-count polyester fabric that is usually reserved for the outer shell of most bags, which means lying on it for any given amount of time makes me feel like I am getting uncomfortably sticky.
I have been camping quite a bit more often recently - I'm going again this weekend, actually - so I have been keeping my eye out for a new bag. Money is still a bit tight, but I've also had a tiny big more coming in these last few weeks, and since it's something I will use on a semi-regular basis, I decided it might be worth it to fork over a bit extra for a sleepingbag of higher quality. After hitting all the department stores in town, I finally found a
Coleman Multi-Comfort bag for $70, which supposedly has a rating of 20-70 degrees. It has already passed it's first test - I've been lying on it for almost 45 minutes now where it is spread out across my bed, and I have yet to get the uncomfortably sticky sensation. We'll see how it performs this weekend, though, before I pass judgment. Keeping the receipt and box just in case.
