Went to the Visitor's Center at the dam yesterday. I'd been in there once before, but that was before the season had technically open and most of the lights were still off, so I wasn't able to see a bunch of the pictures or read the little information plaques that time, so it was pretty neat getting a chance to go in there again. I also got my geek on and was able to watch a movie about the catastrophic glacial floods that scored this area over and over again during the last several ice ages. Cool stuff.
Got permission and was able to drive Manda across the top of the dam and show her the lock and stuff, too. Hurrah for special access!
Got back here to the house around 1:30ish for some lunch - soup and sandwiches, yum - and then we both proceeded to crash for a few hours cause we were both hella tired. Watched Hook cause I just got the DVD and it is just as fun as it always was. We probably did some other stuff around the house, too, but I'm kinda drawing a blank on what those might've been. I do know that around 7, one of my house mates mentioned a club just a few blocks away that supposedly was pretty cool, so Manda and I dolled ourselves up and looked all hot and stuff before we went to check it out. It was actually kind of boring - there was supposed to be live music, but if there was any playing when we were there, we didn't see or hear it. I suppose they might've had a basement where the music types were set up, but we sure couldn't find it. So we played two games of pool, one game of foosball, and hit the pinball machine before we got bored enough to call it a night around 10:00 pm. Yeah, we suck at the night life stuff, but seriously, it was really boring and there weren't many cute guys to impress anyway, just a bunch of middle age types sitting around and drinking.
Anyway, because we didn't want to waste all of the effort we put into looking hot - it is something that only happens once or twice a year, after all - we drove over to Red Lobster for something to eat right after we left the bar. Even with that, though, we were still back here by 11:00, so yeah... Not really a wild night on the town, but such is life.
Today is a Housewarming/BBQ that house mates and I are putting on for our co-workers, so yay for lots of good food!
