On Harry Potter

I wasn't a big fan of book 5 and 6, and I still refuse to even read 7, so I wasn't all that interested in seeing the most recent movies. Few friends of mine decided to go to the Half-Blood Prince earlier tonight, though, and invited me along. I was feeling social, so I figured what the heck.

The movie was okay, but I wasn't super impressed by it. Lots of other people have loved it, and I can see how big fans of last few books might agree. However, I was kinda biased going in, and I was still pretty biased coming out. It wasn't bad, though. Not sure I'm happy about spending $8.50 on it, but I figure I probably would've been spending more if we went out for dinner instead, so I'm not dwelling. I will admit that I was rather happy that I had forewarning for Dumbledore's death, though, even if that scene in the movie wasn't nearly as tear-jerky as I thought it was going to be.

So, yeah, I have seen Half-Blood Prince. If nothing else, at least I got buttered popcorn flavored Jelly Bellies out of it.

In other news, my car is making mysterious noises again, so I asked Dad to come over to check it out for me. Of course, while he was here, the mysterious clunking noise only made its appearance once, and it didn't smoke nearly as much as it had when I went and tried to get groceries earlier this afternoon. The good news is that he thinks Coyote's safe to drive; he's just "Suffering from entropy, just like everyone else is these days." Once again, I really wish I had the money to fix everything that is broken with my boy. He's been a real trooper through it all, but I love my car and I feel like a bad car owner because I can't afford to fix him up proper. Maybe I should start dating a mechanic.
