In which I make everyone hungry

What’s the last thing you ate? Eggo Cinnamon Toast waffle

What’s your favourite cheese? I live in Wisconsin... Maybe the question you should be asking is "Is there any kind of cheese you *don't* like?", in which case I admit to not being a big fan of provolone. American and col-jack are usually my first choice when I'm buying a package at the grocery store, though, with mild colby soon after that.

What’s your favourite fish? I like any kind of fish, provided they are still alive and swimming and I don't have to eat em

What’s your favourite fruit? I like kiwi if you wanna go for the semi-exotic. Otherwise, I've been eating a lot of honeydew and bananas

When, if ever, did you start liking olives? My mom's side of the family are olive-addicts... They finally managed to turn me when I was around 12, I think, but I still don't go to the extremes with the olive-love that they do. I like black olives on my pizza and occasionally on a sandwich, while my mother and her sisters tend to get out a can of black olives and a fork and eat em right out of the container. Occasionally I munch on a few plain right out of the can, but not often and only when the can is already open.

When, if ever, did you start liking beer? Doubt I'll ever like beer.

When, if ever, did you start liking shellfish? Hmm... Probably my mid-to-late teenage years is when I really started liking shrimp. I have had crab and poor mans lobster, but i can't remember if I liked them or not.

What was the best thing your mum/dad/guardian used to make? My family did a lot of cooking growing up. I think my favorites were Mom's beef pot roast, and Dad's grilled chicken.

What’s the native specialty of your home town? Well, Marshfield I don't think really has one, though there are a lot of Friday Fish Frys. As for Chili, I really couldn't say.

What’s your comfort food? Frosted cinnamon rolls probably comes closest. Otherwise, greasy fast food

What’s your favourite type of chocolate? that melt-as-soon-as-it-touches-your-tongue milk chocolate you get with the more expensive chocolate bars (like Dove or Symphony or the fancy schmancy imported ones)

How do you like your steak? Don't like steak much, but when it's all there is to eat, well and thoroughly dead (aka, well done... *maybe* medium-well done with the barest of pinkness if I'm hungry)

How do you like your burger? Also not a big burger fan, though I will eat them well done if that is all there is. Or if they are turkey.

How do you like your eggs? Scrambled

How do you like your potatoes? Mashed with butter and seasoning (or, garlic butter - even better! :D )

How do you take your coffee? Looooooooots of cream, and at least two packets of sugar. Very much falls into the "would you like some coffee with your cream" range.

How do you take your tea? regular tea with lemon and just enough sugar so you can taste it

What’s your favourite mug? Kind of a toss up between the one I painted myself (white with green vines and purple flowers on it) and the one my mom got me at an arts and crafts fair. Round and squat, with a flaring rim, made on a pottery wheel, painted/glazed with a green-to-purplish sort of gradient from top to bottom.

What’s your biscuit or cookie of choice? sugar cookies... preferably home made, but the Pillsbury dough has gotten a little better within the past few years.

What’s your ideal breakfast? two scrambled eggs (or one, depending on how hungry I am) or pancakes with bacon and a biiiiiig glass of orange juice

What’s your ideal sandwich? Depends on what I'm in the mood for, but usually I go for ham or honey turkey with American cheese, lettuce, dill pickles, and a good amount of the kind of mayo I like (aka, the stuff they have at Subway or Cousins which I have been unable to find as of yet when it comes to grocery stores) on french or italian bread.

What’s your ideal pizza (topping and base)? a crispy crust, cheese and pepperoni, and black olives if I'm feeling frisky.

What’s your ideal pie (sweet or savory)? lemon meringue... ::drools at the thought:: Or, home made apple using apples from our tree.

What’s your ideal salad? Plain lettuce salad, with shredded cheese, bacon bits, and ranch dressing.

What food do you always like to have in the fridge? Orange juice, bagels, and sandwich fixings

What food do you always like to have in the freezer? Frozen fruit to make smoothies with. Frozen chicken, too, if I can afford it

What food do you always like to have in the cupboard? Corn chips and salsa. Muffin or mix if I can afford it. Chocolate always.

What spices can you not live without? Garlic, salt, and lemon pepper.

What sauces can you not live without? Um. Never thought about it.

Where do you buy most of your food? The local Copp's grocery store, usually.

How often do you go food shopping? Usually around once a week.

What’s the most you’ve spent on a single food item? I think I spent like 25 dollars each on the separate cheese and fruit platters I had made up for my graduation party in 2002.

What’s the most expensive piece of kitchen equipment you own (excluding ‘white goods’)? My roommate has one of those counter-top-coffee-shop type machines by Bosch, but she got it as a gift, so I don't know how much it cost. The only other kitchen appliances we have aside from the fridge and the stove are a 6 dollar toaster and a 5 dollar microwave that my roommate found at a garage sale, though, so I'm pretty sure it wins for "most expensive kitchen appliance".

What’s the last piece of equipment you bought for your kitchen? See above.

What piece of kitchen equipment could you not live without? What the heck is with this obsession with kitchen appliances? Whoever wrote this meme might want to talk to someone about that.

How many times a week/month do you cook from raw ingredients? Once a week, give or take, if "raw" ingredients include frozen vegetables and frozen or leftover chicken.

What’s the last thing you cooked from raw ingredients? I made stove top popcorn earlier today. Otherwise it was probably the chicken salad I made last weekend.

What meats have you eaten besides cow, pig and poultry? I've had bison meat once or twice, and venison plenty of times over the years. Also had pheasant and partridge once or twice, and rabbit meat once.

What’s the last time you ate something that had fallen on the floor? A Hot Tamale (the cinnamon version of Mike and Ikes) that I dropped earlier this afternoon.

What’s the last time you ate something you’d picked in the wild? Wild raspberries and/or strawberries every summer

Place in order of preference (greatest to least): Chinese, Italian, and Sushi (which I didn't like at all). I've never had Thai, Indian, or French (besides french fries and french toast, but I don't think those count).

Place in order of preference: Vodka, Gin, Tequila, Dark Rum, Light Rum, Brandy, Whiskey None of thee above. Don't drink.

Place in order of preference: Garlic (first and for most, and I can't choose from the rest)Ginger, Mint, Basil, Lime, Caramel, Aniseed.

Place in order of preference: Strawberry, Orange, Banana, Watermelon, Pineapple, Apple, Cherry.

Place in order of preference: The Internet, Movies, Music, Food, Sex, Sports, Fashion (the latter two really don't appeal much to me, but fashion appeals less then sports... I admit to watching the occasional game)

Bread and spread: Fresh, still warm French or Italian bread with melted butter

What’s your fast food restaurant of choice, and what do you usually order? Cousins, Arby's, McDonald's. I used to hate MickyD's, honestly, but then they brought in the Chicken Selects, and now I am totally addicted for life.

What’s your choice of tipple at the end of a long day? Again, don't drink. I do love orange juice, though (plain and simple, nothing added)

What’s the next thing you’ll eat? Not sure. Probably another Eggo Cinnamon Toast waffle later tonight or tomorrow morning

Yeah, I'm bored. Is it that obvious?

meme, spam, food
