1) I miss Rainbow Falls. It was a small but awesome water park here in the Point/Plover area with reasonable prices and kick-ass waterslides that we went to *every summer*, at least once, pretty much from First Grade up to 6th grade. It was tore down in the late 90s, though

They keep showing adds down here for Holiday World (http://www.holidayworld.com/index.html) sort of like Valley Fair in that they have a water park and amusement park all in one. I REAAAALY want to go but little children don't do well at that sort of thing //tear//

Of course... Joe and I have been wanting to do a grown-up trip this summer... and there are grandparents near by... Hmmmm.... I wonder what sort of hotels are up there.... //goes on an internet quest for further info...//

Or, you know, if you want something a bit further north, Wisconsin Dells is full of water/amusement parks, and you also have grandparents kind of in the area. ;) Unless your dad moved, that is.

And it's only an hour away from Stevens Point. ;)

lol, as fun as that would be, it's a bit far for a weekend get-away. ;-)

Besides, I found a campground w/tent sites for $35 a night. There's a lake w/paddle boats and fishing, a pool, mini-golf, an arcade, showers plus a free shuttle to the amusement park... Joe and I may be having a talk about this trip that I've planned today. lol :)

And a very good plan it is. I'm hoping to get out to do some swimming-type stuff, too, either at the Dells or maybe at the Red Granite quarry, which is somewhere I've always wanted to go swimming (if you hadn't figured out from the name, it's an old rock quarry that has been filled up with water. Some of the old machinery is still down there because they couldn't get it out in time). If luck (and finances) be with me, possibly even both!
