NaNo starts tomorrow!
SugoiCon was this past weekend; I'll have a report about its complete awesomeness up sometime later. :D
I found out a while ago that my boyfriend thinks it's kinda cheating, doing a fanfic for NaNoWriMo, since the characters and setting are already established. And heck, maybe he's right, but I don't care. Fanfics aren't against the rules, and I'm so excited about writing it that I figure it's better to go ahead with this than try to come up with something completely original and just get frustrated, and end up spending the whole month wishing I was writing about the Golden Pair anyway.
Speaking of which, for anyone who's interested, here's a brief description of the story: high school shoujo relationship drama starring teenage boys. :D It's so silly and ridiculous that it makes me giddy. I'm planning on throwing in pretty much anything I feel like -- any little random thing that I think would be cute, funny, or awesome is going in there. This includes song references, and a possible Blossam reference if I don't feel like too much of a dork for including it.
Also, on a more specific variation of the "dares" threads in the NaNo forums, I'm completely up for suggestions for other stuff to put in the story. Is there something you've always wanted to see in a Golden Pair fic, but never have? Let me know, and I'll try to work it in! Anything to get to 50,000 words. :D
Some more specifics for the story, in case someone does want to suggest something:
-- I'm going by mostly anime canon, since that's what I'm familiar with
-- it takes place in their first year of high school
-- the overall rating will be (content-wise) a high PG-13, or, maybe, if the word count gets desperate enough or I just feel like including it, a really, really low R
-- I am including an original character
-- I'm not specifying any pairings other than GP, but some of my other preferences might work their way in, and I'll probably "hint" at things
-- I'm writing it in first-person, Eiji POV. I'm really excited about this. I've avoided writing in first-person like the plague for as long as I can remember, so we'll see how it works out.
If anyone wants more details, let me know. I am unbelievingly willing to talk about this thing. ♥
I'm stealing kooriyoukai's idea and including a word-count-meter-thing on my user info page. (And apparently they got sneaky and changed the URL for it, so yours needs to be updated, KY~)
During NaNo, I'm planning on posting the previous GP fanfic I've been working on. It still needs some serious editing, so I suppose when I get tired of writing and writing and writing, I'll work on that. :D
In completely unrelated news, I'm finally going to a meeting of the Japanese Club today. (I was roped into joining the club earlier in the semester, but haven't been able to attend anything yet.) We're apparently making okonomiyaki, which is friggin' awesome. :D
