Before

Is there a day that passes by,
That you think of me as much as I,
Ponder about our meetings?

Do you ever wonder why the sight of you,
Makes me so warm all over,
Resulting an involuntary smile I could never hide,
To spread across my face.

What strikes me is the smile you offer back,
Filled with such happiness and sincerity,
It would give that jolly ol' saint a run for his money.
Oh what a joke those Christmas lights are
Compared to your majestic eyes.

Your embrace keeps me close,
It compels,
Me to stay and hope for your arms to,
Never cease,
Intertwining with my own.

Your scent lingers in my memory,
Sweet and soothing as if I'm,
Drinking in this fragrance of lemon tea
And golden honey when your soft hair,
Touches my face.

That causes my knees to give way,
Like the avalanche of thoughts that run through my head,
Which still leads me to question,

Is there a day that passes by,
That you think of me as much as I,
Ponder about our meetings?

After

Is there a day that passes by,
That you think of me as much as I do
of you?

Do you ever wonder why the sight of you
Makes me so warm all over,
Causing an involuntary smile to spread across my face?
I can’t hide it.

And there it is: the smile you offer back,
Spilling over with happiness and sincerity,
It would give a certain jolly ol' saint pause.
What a joke those Christmas lights are
Compared to your majestic eyes.

Your embrace keeps me close,
It compels me to stay and hope
for your arms to
Never find their way
out of my own.

Your scent lingers in my mind,
Sweet and soothing as if I'm swallowing,
swallowed, drowning in this fragrance,
lemon tea and golden honey
when your soft hair
brushes my face.

My knees give way,
an avalanche of thoughts crashes through my head,
Which brings me back to this:

Is there a day that passes by,
That you think of me as much as I do
of you?
