Miles and I saw 13 in CT. Awesome score, awesome choreography, awesome design. Really excited to see what happens with that.
Saw Gypsy last night. Deeply upsetting, almost sickening to watch. Laura Benanti deserves every accolade there is for that performance. Gaines, LuPone and Larkin, too. Brought themes forward that I never considered before: "Pioneer woman without a frontier", transference of sexual power from mother to daughter. June and Louise were almost unrecognizable to me; it was powerful.
Someone should give Alison Fraser a goddamn hamburger.
Speaking of hamburgers, I'm never eating White Castle again.
Alpha Psi Ecdysia remounts its debut show at Rififi (East Village) in less than two weeks. Exciting, scary.
