This will be a quickly written post as my computer is about to die, and I feel not like plugging it in.
As I laid in bed this morning, at approximately 7:00 a.m. (yes, on a Saturday), struggling to get back to sleep, I realized there are a few firsts that the age of 25 years has brought.
To enumerate a few:
1. overall inability to sleep-in. While this is a rather new development, I am finding it harder and harder to sleep-in on the weekends, even if I've been up and out late. Le sigh.
2. glasses. I bragged for 3 years about my superb, better-than-perfect vision (20 over 12, to be exact), only to discover, when visiting the eye doctor for my non-existent night vision, that both eyes are slightly near-sighted and I have rather debilitating astigmatism in the right. That explains a lot, including the inability to see to drive at night, and some of the migraine headaches I've experienced over the past few years.
3. therapy. For probably the first time in my life, I'm super aggressively battling my mental illness (depression and anxiety), which means seeing every doctor, taking every pill, all despite the cost (high), and doing what I can, truly, to get this monkey off my back and feel more "normal" emotionally. And I'm hopeful.
4. car ownership. I am now the proud owner of the TITLE of my 2006 Honda Civic Coupe, which means I, not the bank, own my 2 1/2 year-old car, which is the awesomesauce since it's still fairly new, and paid-[off]-in-full. Special thanks to my parents on that one, for their love, help and support.
The baby MacBook battery is indicating it's time to end this post. I was struck with some inspiration and ran with it. I'm sure there are at least a few more 25-year "firsts", so we'll see if a follow-up is in order.
