Anyone else do this thing where you berate yourself for not completing the task you set out for yourself so you aren't allowing yourself time to enjoy actual rest after workin' on said task. Anyone or is it just me?
Context: I worked on adding in my latest bakery position to my main generic resume today. Then I decided that I wanted to build a better specific resume for front desk/office assistant work that I wanna apply. So I am restructuring from that base, but it's really hard for me to focus, and just get it done. I am constantly struggling with this ... though I know I have the capacity to do it. There is more to unpack than just writing a resume, and this post isn't about resume writing at all. *Sigh*
So, now I am sitting here after putting it away for the day, fully expecting to have the rest of my evening to myself. The issue is that I am not resting nor enjoying my time away from said work I have put down for the day.
I've been sitting here for over an hour, just being mean to myself, which prompted me to want to talk about it, addressing and outlining this symptom. What the fuck evil inner turmoil voice of self doubt, take a hike, and let me actually rest.
