I've been seeing more and more uterus owners claiming they would stop having sex with penis and testicle owners if Roe v Wade is overturned, unless the penis user gets a vasectomy. Medical professionals say that Vasectomy is reversible, and for most less than a week of discomfort. So until you testes having folks want crotch goblins, you can choose to never have an accidental pregnancy with a uterus.
That's possibly the course of action I may take, check to see if my partner has been checked for STDs, and if necessary check, check to see if they have sperm free semen. I have made mistakes with over the counter contraception methods. Condoms and female contraceptives are not 100% effective against pregnancy. Accidental pregnancy does happen even through contraception, unprotected sex happens, rape happens, ectopic and other nonviable pregnancy happens. These things happen to more people with ovaries than are comfortable speaking up about it in such public forums. Private personal experiences should not be touted out in the hopes of reaching some sympathetic ear, and then those same people harassed because of the choice they made in private for themselves and their well being.
As abortion bans come into effect it will be harder and harder to get a completely safe medical procedure to the adult human. Yes, it is deleting a fetus, but it is not your fetus, and any human (as of yet) still have the right to choose their existence and how to live it thanks to precedents set by Roe v Wade (it's not just about abortions that this will effect).
I believe in the right to an opinion, and a right to body autonomy. These are not mutually exclusive. I can have an abortion because I want one for any number of personal or medical reasons, and you can absolutely choose to keep your fetus despite how it came to be there. You have the absolute right to choose to go forward, against sound medical advice, to continue with a nonviable pregnancy. Don't force personal choices upon me or anyone else, give everyone the right to choose.
I'm pro abortion, but the term pro choice is better for me only because I truly believe in the right to choose your own adventure in this life.
