The Fuss and I are grooving at the moment to "Animaniacs" on Nicktoons (Digital Cable's brilliant, you know!)... specifically a Buttons and Mindy cartoon. Seeing this fave show again, coupled with a buncha recent DVD-coming announcements, has prompted me to create this list. (Hey, you know, it's not important in the Grand Scheme of Things, but I'm all about trivialities!)
So, since two of my fave shows-- Quantum Leap and Sledge Hammer!-- are coming out this summer on DVD, and since several others are already out, here's what really needs to come out on DVD. As far as I'm concerned, of course!
5) The Patty Duke Show. Still one of my favourite sitcoms. It's got that twin thing going, for one thing. Also, I was pretty much Cathy Lane when I was in high school.
4) Beverly Hills, 90210. Serious guilty pleasure for me. And most of the episodes, at least until Tiffani-Amber left, actually had well-written scenes. Oh, and Luke Perry was way hawt. (But not once he returned to the show.)
3) Alien Nation. Hell, Fox is putting out all sorts of limited-run series on DVD. Why not something good?
2)Animanaics. Oh yeah. Modern satire at it's best. Pinky and the Brain needs to come out on DVD, too, but certainly not Pinky, Elmyra, and the Brain.
1) U.N.C.L.E. Both Man From... and Girl From... These are like the only really, really popular shows from the 1960's that you can't get on DVD. I mean, if I Dream of Jeanie,Bewitched, and Gilligan's Island can be out on DVD, why not U.N.C.L.E.??????
