So those frustration cookies for my friends, here they are:















So I used this recipe for my first home made batch. Turned out pretty well. And I put crystal sugar or those small beaded sprinkles before baking on some because I wanted to save on icing.

And when I got to the icing? Oy. I've discovered that I do not have the patience to make the gorgeous cookies that others do haha. And I didn't wait long enough so the icing spilled over, hence the spillage in the zoomed in pix. And the trees, I put two many layers of icing so even overnight, they hadn't totally dried. So packing 'em started to make them melt. Eek. I already warned the friends receiving, expect pretty sprinkle ones, and some melted. And here is what they looked like before they arrived a melting disaster haha. I hope they get there all right!

I'm baking another batch next week for the family. Will probably re-think my icing strategy. I don't want them to melt again...
