Random fangirling: Tenkyuugi

Kinokuniya is being slightly annoying by making me go to such lengths to buy my manga. Somehow, they only stock the full ranges of popular series like Loveless and Amatsuki in Orchard. They don't exactly update other series like 07-Ghost (missing quite a few books), Tetsuichi (missing even more books), and they are missing quite a lot of titles in the Zero Sum range (well, maybe they're retired) but they have almost the full range of Arcana in Orchard! <3 Otherwise, the Zero Sum section in there is pretty pathetic (talk about it being a main branch). It also doesn't have all the other nice books like Ikoku Meiro no Croisse or Gakuen God!, but on the other hand, Clarke Quay has them. It's fun to hunt around the shelves and pick up random books which look nice, even though I buy now by mostly looking at the scanlations first. Clarke Quay is near my house anyway, yay! I also found Tenkyuugi on the shelves (which is also missing in Orchard haha.)

Tenkyuugi is awesomely cute! I love how Nanao and Kisa get together and act as stand-up comedians (Nanao is the boke and Kisa is the tsukkomi). Nanten is cute because his speech and mannerisms are kind of girly (observe how he stands. It looks like how I stand when I talk to the prof.) His sleeves are cute too! Nanao-chan is also cute when he's being stupid, and cute is one thing that Harry Potter will NEVER be labeled because of his immense angst from book 4 onwards. If I met a boy (or even a girl) like that, I'd slap them left, right, centre. There's absolutely no need for Harry Potter to vent his anger or angst on his friends and them to be so condescending.

I'm totally in awe of how the scanlators of Tenkyuugi scanlate it! (But I found quite a few mistakes in the translations and interpretations muahahaha.) I'm totally amazed how they actually found out that the entire Tenkyuugi theme is based on Kabbalah and whatnot. The circle of the earthly laws are all in kanji and I just don't see the link between the kanji and the Kabbalah terms. I don't even understand the entire Kabbalah thing anyway, but it's cool! They should put the katakana where the kanji is, though (on the diagram). Scanlators are so fascinating how they actually research those little minute details and enlighten the rest of the people who have absolutely zero knowledge about what Ein Sof is. Without it, I'd read it as daiki haha. I think they're doing a far better job than legal English publishers in this aspect, but I can't really comment since I've been buying the Japanese version for like almost everything for quite a number of years now, except for Kindaichi. But I think since the word Sephirahnatus is written as セフイラノーツ, the ノーツ of アルミラノーツ may also be romanized as -natus instead of notes. Ah well.

Nanao is cute when he's being a rascal (he's absolutely spot-on when he calls himself a やんちゃなガキ) and Kisa and Nanao are cute when they fight and Nanten is cute just by being there (like Labrador in 07-Ghost!) so it's adorable!! <3 Can't wait. (They should really axe Harry Potter from the lead role in Harry Potter and sub Nanao in or something...)
