"Severus, I've just come to realize something."
Snape looked up from the chessboard. He and the youngest male Weasley had been keeping up a game in his passing visits to Spinner's End. It was Snape's move and he was not pleased at having been distracted. Even if the distraction happened to be Hermione.
"And that would be what, Hermione?"
"You've never kissed me on the top of my head. You've kissed me, erm, everywhere else, but never here." She lightly patted the area in question.
“Of course not. That area-more than any other-is the reserved place for Fathers to bestow a kiss to their children. And you, Hermione, are no child of mine.”
The grin on her face was Snape’s only indication that Hermione agreed whole-heartedly.
