Ah, Generation X. My first real fandom, before I knew what fandom was. Actually, I think it was Gen13 before that, but I began reading them around the same time. I actually own the issue that this icon is taken from. It's one where the gang (here Jonothan Starsmore, Angela Espinosa and Jubilation Lee) was watching horror movies, and Jubilee proceeds to have a nightmare afteward in which he teammates are taken out one by one by various horror villan icons. The art was done by Ale Garza, and I like it a lot. This also worked perfectly as my default icon becuase they're watching TV, bickering about what's going on, which so fits my fandom journal.

The cap is from "The Kindred Pt. I." I like that it's Teyla with her "boys." John, Rodney, and Ronon are armed behind her, but she's leading the way, because this is her mission, as she's trying to find the whereabouts of her people. And the yellow grass is preety. :P

For some reason I can't explain, I love Vala Mal Doran, and the way Claudia Black plays her. I have no idea why. I love how she always messes with Daniel, but I also see that there's more to her character. I wasn't even watching SG-1 really, but I started getting interested when I noticed Vala. It's weird. Also, she has an insane amount thick, black hair, and I think it's hilarious how she puts the little bows and barrettes in it. I actually don't use this icon very much.

I feel that this image speaks or itself, but I'll indulged the non-John/Teyla fans, or peopel unfamiliar with their characters. The image is from "Doppleganger." I guess I like it so much because it's not really about the shippy side of John and Teyla, but just getting comfort when you need it. I thought it interesting that with all that was going on, Teyla sought out John and actually embraced him, which went a long way of showing how vulnerable she was right then. And she didn't wait til she got in his room or anything, but hugged him right there, in front of his door, so anybody that passed could see them. There's a lot more I could say, but that's the basics.

So, I got into the icon making business not too long ago. I really liked the lighting in this image, and Teyla was all alight with that marternal glow. I think this is from "The Kindred" storyline, too. Others have complimented this icon, so that's great. I have no idea how people make batche of 50 decent icons at once. I might get there, though, if I branched out into othe fandoms. But, back to this images, I wanted to create something somewhat uniqued that captured the awesomeness of Teyla. The originalc ap was very beautiful, so I didn't do much apart from cropping and adding additional glow in the bottom left corner. So, feel fee to snag this. :)
