So, I just got back from watching "The Seed."
Wow, so this is what is feels like when you're wondering if others people see the same things you're seeing in terms of your preferred ship, or if you're just seeing what you want to see.
I suppose it's good to start with the facts.
The opening scene started out kind of strange. It seemed a bit long. Teyla coming in with the BAYBEE! was awesome. However, I wondered why little Torren was cocooned in swaddling within an inch of his short life. But as far as her and Jen talking about what had been going on-I guess it was to get the audience up to speed and get us comfortable with Jen's character.
Aww. . .Jen's feel asleep at her work station, face melted to her laptop and everything, and then eww! gross . . .
Next Woolsey arrives on Atlantis (LOL @ Rodney not wanting to stand to great him) . . .yada yada. . . on to the morning briefing session. . .
Ronon was totally checking Jennifer out when she came into the briefing room, and she seems completely oblivious. Then, after she sat down next to him, he was all leaning into her space like nobody's business. Seriously. McKay was on the other side of him, and Sheppard and Teyla are sitting comfortably next to each other on the other side of the table as they all wait for Woolsey to enter. It's all about body language, people.
I never disliked Woolsey as a character. He was never set up to be disliked, and even though he represents the IOA, he'd exponentially more understanding than they are. He reports to them what they need to know, but there have been times where he's left a few details out. I just can't remember which episode that was right now . . .sometime in Season 2. Now he's being all about "prioritizing" and efficiency, not wasting resources unnecessarily.
OMGah, Jen is so cute in her jammie pants. XD
Sheppard looking all pained when he saw what happened to Jennifer. He was so like, "Not this again..."
"It's definitely more than a case of the hives!" Oh Carson, how you slay me. :)
Yeah, Teyla going out to investigate with Zelenka was cool, just because I don't think they're ever been paired together.
[SPOILERY GRIPE ALERT] If cutting off a single sliver of an alien tentacle caused Jennifer to go into cardiac arrest, why whouldn't shooting the think kill her. I suppose one is meant to reason that the parasite first started growing, the host was in a more delicate state. And again, at the end when Sheppard was injected with the trial antidote.[END GRIPE]
Ronon and Rodney volunteering to deliver the antidote, and the resulting look that Ronon gave Rodney. Priceless.
I wonder why the organism didn't kill Ronon. . . could Jen's subconscious have been holding back? My shippy heart hopes so, anyway.
Sheppard being all daring with the rescue/save at the end. Didn't he just heal from the last daring rescue only a few weeks before?
Ronon's bruised larynx. . .no speaking for a few days. I'm sure you R/K writers should go crazy with the possibilities. Jen totally went to visit him at the end of the scene; it's what I choose to believe.
And I suppose I liked the moment at the end with Woolsey and Shep, kind of showing him what it's gonna entail to be a leader of the expedition.
So, not the best episode evah, but I enjoyed it. I was entertained. The whole team working to save Jen was nice.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
