Last night I clicked the link in my Gooogle Reader to check out the latest entry in
Joseph Mallozzi's blog (SGA executive producer), only to nearly die of squee(!) as I was greeted by wonderful shots of Jason Momoa, co-starring a couch with which he wishes to part.
Click the above image to head over to JM's blog entry.
The images are quite a treat, and you get to see the wig they've created since Jason lost his cumbersome locks a several months back. I was really looking forward to Jason's new look transferring to Ronon's character, but it looks like he'll be keeping the dreads.
At first I thought, "Ugh, his dreads look so fake with the wig...$10,000 and that's the best they could do?!
Then I read this:
According to Jason Momoa as quoted in a
GW.net article: "There is some of my hair in there, which they sewed in to make it look more like my hair. When it came to us it was really clean and kind of dark. By the end of the season it will be perfect, because it has to get dirty and used."
This situations eminds me of the exploits
Rachel Luttrell (Teyla) experienced with her weave in the early days of the show. If you look at early episodes (the pilot especially) you'll see an interesting transformations as they tried to find a hairstyle that worked.
Mallozzi also mentions Jason's performance in an upcoming episode. SGA season 5 begins July 11th in the U.S., and I'm really excited to see the new episodes. I've been trying not to read too many spoilers, but there have been hints that there will be more developments in the R/K area. I'm not expecting too much. There hasn't been much talk about it, so I see that as an indication that I'll be pleasantly surprised by whatever happens between them. There are 2 episodes in particular where "whatever" may come to fruition.
For me, the mailbag on JM's blog is always a treat. His responses are rather entertaining, and then, unexpectedly, I come across something like this:
Sandra writes: “1. Is anything going to happen in season 5 with the Ronon/Keller relationship? 2. Is Kolya ever coming back? 3. Is clone Beckett going to function as the real Beckett did in terms of relationships and things like that? 4. Have you read “American Gods” or “Anansi Boys” by Neil Gaiman?
Answers: 1. More than likely. 2. Isn’t he dead? 3. Yes. 4. Not yet.

And while I'm at it posting links to stuff, here's a nice interview with
Rachel Luttrell, and then with
Jewel Staite (check out
Jewel's myspace blog as well. She's hilarious.) And she can
sing, too. :)
