If you look for offense, you will find it.
If you think people are trying to offend you, you will discover faults and attacks.
If you assume the good in people, it will often present itself to you.
I could care less about little flame wars on email lists and discussion groups. Some people have nothing better to do than make other people miserable about things that don't even matter in the long run. But, it seems I started one by my lack of action -- I was used as an example. I certainly don't mind, but a few people got all out of hand because they imagined implied meanings where there was none. Grow up, be more civil, expect the good in people and you might just be happier. Your energies can be used for better things than pointing fingers and being bitter. Be calm and civil, and say something intelligent, not inflammatory.
