My cousin Melanie has been a cop in Berkeley, CA for about 5 years (a guess, but probably a good one) and she got hired to do SWAT training for the Berkeley PD. She just finished up her first week of training where she is the only woman and has had to deal with a lot of sexism and has to work twice as hard to prove that she's good enough. Mel is KICKING ASS!!! She had to get tear-gassed and repel buildings and run scenarios with all the SWAT gear on and she is definitely showing the boys who's boss.
