The ArmadilloCon schedule is up now. I'm going to be "Vanna" for Fannish Feud (I am the revealer of answers). That's on Saturday afternoon before dinner. And then after dinner, I'm moderating the Paranormal Romance panel! I'm psyched, but I need to think about this, put some notes together. Yes, I read widely in the paranormal romance genre but still, this will be the first time I've moderated a literary panel (as opposed to moderating a fan panel). Unlike last year, I'm only on these two panels which is cool by me, because I will probably still be a bit worn out from WorldCon.
I think I'm just going to go ahead and board Sam for ArmadilloCon. It's not that expensive, and will give me a little more flexibility with when I need to go home to medicate Kitsu.
I need to do some research on funnish things to do in Denver.
spielmadchen is a history buff, so I think she would enjoy a tour of the State Capitol which is a few blocks from our hotel. There are also several art museums in the same complex. We may be hooking up with some folks to ride the Pike's Peak Railroad (although I haven't heard back on that yet) and we may be hooking up with Houston-area writer and FACT member John Moore to do touristy stuff on Monday (haven't heard back from him so I'll need to drop him another line). I'll also be going to see the Colorado Rockies play with
spielmadchen,
timiller and Tim's wife. Even though they aren't great this year, and they aren't playing a team I care about, it's still fun to go to a baseball game, esp. a major league game!
I need to get Sam's and Kitsu's bags o stuff ready. I'm a little anal, but I don't want Sam to get accidentally ODd on insulin, so I'm going to prefill his syringes. I got paid today, so I'll be buying food for him and Kitsu both after work today. Sam gets dropped off Friday morning on my way in to work (vet near campus). This works out well since I have a dentist appt at 1 Friday not far from where I used to live, so I was going to have to drive in anyway!
Kitsu gets dropped off Saturday morning. After, I'm going to meet my friend Diane for brunch (she lives southside). I'm not stressing quite as much about leaving Kitsu. I know it'll stress him, but he'll get very good care. I don't think anything will happen to him while I'm gone. Even though his heart is clearly weakening, he's still in fairly good shape right now.
Oh yeah, need to contact my cat sitters and get keys and instructions to them. Plus laundry and packing (I'll do that Sunday).
Whew, a lot to do before Monday!
