I'm kind of obsessed with pornography. I mean, I watch it and masturbate, like lots of other people, but also, I'm obsessed with it as a media.
It's the original progenitor of the mockumentary style of film-making. It often contains elements of verite, of the camera happily catching an act unfolding naturalistically, but by and large, pornography contains scripted elements. That's part of what intrigues me.
But like professional wrestling, we're aware that this happenstance, this unscripted documentary caught on tape, is false. We willingly suspend belief to a degree. But it's fake. I can tell ...
Part of how I can tell is when you see girls screaming 'Oh my god, I'm gonna cum!' like they were previously unaware that the female orgasm was one of the possible outcomes of engaging in sexual congress. 'Oh my god, I'm gonna cum!' like it was the last thing they were expecting to happen. And I know that's fake. Because I'll have seen the seemingly naive female in a previous pornographic movie, wherein she will have expressed the same surprised sentiment. So either pornstars don't learn from previous experience, or they're lying for our entertainment and arousal.
Fool me once, Jenna Haze, and shame on you. Fool me twice ...
(Can't get fooled again).
