Not a restful weekend so far
The weekend started with mom wanting me to set up her new Tracfone for her, which she decided she liked better than the Sprint phone I gave her. This involved talking to someone from India who said her name was "Petal" and was very fond of saying "Thank you very much for that." So the new phone had to be set up and then the old phone information transferred to the new phone, and the new phone shut down. I think Tracfone had made that process as difficult as possible, with lots of opportunities for punching in long sets of numbers over and over again as various codes.
That done I took on problems with iTunes, and why not all of the apps were loading on the iPhone, and that took about an hour to resolve. Then there were problems with Aperture on the Mac, and getting photographs in Aperture to load to a Mobile Me web page, and that took some time too. (A lot of that was editing, and some of the photos were not so hot even with editing, but I did what I could with overexposed backgrounds..) Finally the belt came off the vacuum cleaner so I had to find the manual online, and we had to partially disassemble the vacuum cleaner to get the belt back on.
This was all coupled with the fact that my elder son is running a game at a gaming convention tonight and he thought it was next week, not this week... so he hasn't gotten any sleep for the last 36 hours while he endlessly writes up character sheets. This has been accompanied by his rising anxiety, which of course I also feel. He got out the door to go to the con a few minutes ago.
The weather hasn't been good for gardening, so I did get a wen page of family pictures up and did some reading. I also made some cookies to take to a meeting tonight. I haven't made cookies in the longest. I think I just wanted to do something that didn't involve a computer screen or a manual.
