So, I had my MRI. I actually fell asleep during it and managed to drool on myself. I thought I'd be really stressed with how close it was, but I just kept my eyes shut the entire time, and I was fine. Holding perfectly still, eyes shut, warm, repetitive and easy to ignore noises... yeah, perfect for sleep.
They said it would take four or five days for me to get the results, so B and I headed over to a friend's house before leaving town.
Halfway there my doctor called. They had sent the scans over without waiting for the write up. I have a herniated disk (although not ruptured). As B would say 'Well, there's your problem!'. So, in December I will see a spine doctor (first appointment available) to have an anti inflammatory shot. The hope was this would allow the swelling to go down enough that it would slip back into place on it's own, although my doctor didn't seem hopeful. She said it was procedure to try this first.
If it doesn't work, she says I'll have to have back surgery. :C :C :C
I'm really unhappy and kind of scared, but at least now I don't feel like maybe the whole problem is in my head and people are thinking I'm making it up. It's a real problem.
Boo.
