I wrote a poem! I never do that!
CHOICE?!
This was no choice of mine
Hmmmmmm how to make you see
This will just take a minute
If you'll just follow me

Picture yourself in a far away land
A land that's dark and bleak
Where music and dance are frowned upon
And people aren't unique
-
Paintings, books and higher maths
Seen as devil's tools
And there you stand among them
With your modern day world views
-
Could you forget your ABC's
Leave science in the rain
Never hum another tune
To be perceived as sane

And even if you turned your back
On what you know is true
To fit into society
Then would you not be blue

It's harder than you think
To put your soul upon a shelf
And so we face the simple truth
You don't choose to be yourself
