I had every intention of checking my LJ every day, but that didn't happen. I just shouldn't make resolutions. I missed
evilawyer's birthday. This was after I checked my birthday list on Monday and said to myself, "Hey,
evilawyer's birthday is this week. Maybe I should go ahead and put up a post? Nah, I'm checking my LJ every day now, right? I'll catch it on Wednesday." Yeah, right. Anyhow, I do go back and check from the last day I remember until I get all caught up.
The boys are at Nana's this weekend (Whoohoo!) so Hubby and I get a free weekend. ;~) And that's all the info you guys are gonna get about that. :~P
We've been doing the movie thing here recently. I bought Serenity, which I may have mentioned, and was re-watching it while Hubby played war games on the computer. Hubby wound up watching the whole thing with me and, when it was over, turned to me and said, "Wow honey, that's the kind of movie you want to go out and tell people to see." And I got all puffed up. As if I really had anything at all to do with it, other than have good taste. ;~)
Mom bought the boys King Kong because they had seen the previews and wanted to see it. I really didn't, but found out, after watching it with the boys, that it was actually a pretty good remake. I am embarrassed to admit that I teared up at the end.
Nana and I took the boys to see Ice Age 2: The Meltdown. The boys loved it and the adults in the theater were laughing just as hard as the kids. It was a cute movie. We'll have to buy it for the boys when it comes out on DVD.
The next day Nana and I did the girl bonding thing and went to see a movie ourselves while Hubby watched the kids. I thought we would see Failure to Launch as Mom had been talking about that one. We got there and she was looking at the movie posters of everything that was playing. Imagine my surprise when she decided that she'd rather see Slither.
Mom has always loved scary movies and I used to be her movie buddy when I was little. Half the time I spent the movie hiding behind the couch, but I loved 'watching' it with Mom. It gave us something that was just ours. Baby Boy is my movie watching buddy. He loves the scary movies and I love having him curl up on the couch next to me. It's something that's just ours.
I'm still not sure if I really liked Slither or if I just liked seeing it with Mom and laughing when she jumped (or having her laugh at me when I jumped) or if I just liked seeing Nathan Fillon on the big screen. Whatever, it was fun.
Have a Happy Easter/Passover/weekend, my flist!
