New Rule: If you're an author of cartoons or comics in any way, and if you feel the need to do a holiday-themed episode, please do not make the focus of that episode a gun-wielding Santa. It was funny at first (Futurama, Invader Zim), then marginal (Sluggy), and now is simply overdone (everyone else). Yes, it's an insane juxtaposition and shocking counterpoint. It's also lazy and thoughtless. I assume that you do this for a living because you have some creativity. How about we use some of that?
