My migraine I posted about at 6 p.m. (see post below) got over quite quick. Here's what I did:
1. I took a maxalt.
2. I turned out all the lights.
3. I laid in bed with the tense/painful side lying on the bed (blanket between knees and blanket in arms)
4. I stayed that way for about 25 minutes, without the intention of sleeping but of just clearing my mind and relaxing.
5. I got up, not with an alarm, but by my own choice (I told myself if I got up I could order Chinese food--otherwise I knew I'd just fall asleep because it was so cold and I was so tired!)
6. I did a relaxing mindless activity--in this case, washing dishes--wish only a tiny amount of light. The warmth of the water was also nice.
7. I consciously noted that I was feeling better.
8. I made plans to order Chinese food.
Later I ordered the Chinese food (as well as for a couple CPJers) and went to pick up Will from an office party, and got stressed out about being late due to getting lost in Lacey for a bit and stuff. And while it caused some tension, it was nothing like what I usually describe as "tension." I think this is the difference between my tension and other peoples', in general. Maybe that's why it's hard for people to empathize and take it seriously.
But anyways, at this point, after production night, I'm feeling fine. Even a little good mood-wise.
I am thinking of taking a few days off and going to Beacon for a retreat. Or should I just hold out til Spring break?
